RESPONSIBILITIES
Generic responsibilities
- Implement NRC’s logistical systems and procedures both in countries of responsibility
- Ensure adherence to the Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies, and donor requirements
- Provide anti-corruption, transparency, and cost-efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management)
- Training and development of the logistical team
- Prepare and submit periodic reports and plans as required
- Ensure proper filing of all logistics documents in all offices
- Train and support project staff in procurement matters
- Conduct compliance /stock spot checks
- Conduct periodic stock counts
Specific responsibilities
- Ensure that all NRC Sudan, Darfur logistics specific SOPs are implemented and adhered to in all area offices
- Ensure all procurements managed at the Area Office are conducted in a timely and effective manner as per NRC procurement regulations, provide support in the tender processes led by Country Office Logistics.
- Follow the implementation of NRC’s logistical systems and procedures in the Country Office, Area offices, and Field Offices.
- Prepare, update, and track FWAs accordingly and as per the need.
- Direct management of Fleet, logistics, and Procurement teams in Area and field offices.
- Provide monthly Checks and induction training/refresher on Logistics SD and O365 filing system.
- Provide monthly reports on all logistics activities and ensure logistics KPIs are achieved, report posted in a timely manner on O365 for Logistics Managers/designated review.
- Ensure donor compliance and produce regular, timely, and accurate logistics reports for NRC and donors.
- Support in all aspects of the Logistics teams in the country offices ensuring that logistics support is effective
- Provide gap-filling for senior logistics positions that become vacant within the area offices until such time the positions are filled
- Improve the staff logistic capacity building, and support program teams in using NRC’s Logistics tools.
- Contribute to updating the Master budget as per the need.

- Experience from working as a Logistician or Logistics Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

- Fluency in English both written and verbal
- Good knowledge of logistics reporting systems
- Good hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Good knowledge of Logistics Procedures and regulations

- Ability to work independently with strong team player skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to travel extensively within Afghanistan
