DRC in Sudan
DRC Sudan provides a flexible and multi-faceted humanitarian response to the diverse needs present in four Sudanese states. Since beginning work in Darfur in 2004, DRC has expanded to offer programming in Khartoum and along the main migration routes from East Africa, primarily focusing on three sectors: Protection, Economic Recovery, and Community Driven Recovery and Safety (CDRS). DRC also responds to emergency needs through the provision of food assistance, shelter, non-food items, and hygiene kits. DRC’s work to promote peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities also entails supporting Sudanese civil society and domestic institutions to build their response capacity with an increased focus on long-term solutions.
