Under direct supervision of Finance Coordinator, and the Deputy Finance Coordinator, the Senior Finance officer duties include aspects of Finance and administration management of TGH mission.

  1. Accounting &Finance Management
  2. Accountancy and management of Cashbox for Port Sudan Support Office:
  • Ensure the daily Management and secure of cash box, cash advances on a weekly basis in collaboration with Port Sudan Support Office;
  • Ensure accurate book keeping to close the accountancy on weekly & monthly basis;
  • Check and classify the entire financial document (invoices, bank reconciliation & cashbox inventories and related documents) are archived accordingly
  • Request & Monitor & Follow and make sure that all the accounting documents, soft and hard, from the bases, are sent on time and report accordingly and are in conformity;
  • Provide financial support and good accounting practices to mission bases as required (including temporary travel as required)
  1. Accountancy and management of Cashbox for Mission:
  • Ensure the management control of accounting documents and give the necessary recommendations to the field team on the proper presentation of financial documents
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices, salaries, social insurance and income tax according to TGH financial policies at port Sudan level
  • Ensure the preparation of bank documents needed for transfers in coordination with finance Coordinator;
  1. Managing Transfers and payments requested by field offices form the Mission:
  • Management of transfer request by Field offices.
  • Make sure transfers are done on timely bases base on their cash request
  1. General Administration:
  • Ensure efficient archiving of all administrative and financial documents from the mission;
  • Manage the good translation duties related to the bank (letter, statements etc.) do by the administrator;
  • Ensure the control and the classification all invoices and their supported document for Mission on monthly basis (in coordination with the field coordinator, Log team, project managers etc.);
  • Ensure the truthfulness of accountancy and manage according ;
  • Ensure the follow up contracts, payment of rent and invoices for all TGH premises (in coordination with Log team);
  • Manage the Purchase follow Up, collect, control all data related and ensure the payment of logistic and program invoices respecting TGH financial procedures and the cash management process
  • Update TGH coordination with all changes in financial &economic situation in the Sudan.
  1. Audit, Internal Control & Reporting: 
  • Ensure the internal financial control (respects of TGH financial procedures and good use of the various tools);
  • Prepare and classify invoices and purchase files and participate in any financial audit and assessment made by donors
  • Prepare financial reports and follow-up of any donor’s financing contracts in link with the support coordinator;
  1. Archiving System & Vouchers
  • Responsible of Finance Port Sudan filing / Archiving system;
  • Responsible for electronic and hardcopies archiving.
  • Responsible of voucherization of the mission.
  • Support any donor’s audit from a Finance point of view;
  • Maintain good relationship with all stakeholders;
  1. Capacity building
  • Participate actively in the training courses recommended by TGH, and share new skills and knowledge with his/ her team or colleagues;
  • Inform her/his supervisor about identified training needs and training opportunities on her/his job related issue;
  • Co-operate in the supervision of partner organizations according to partnership agreements;
  1. Other duties
  • Perform other related duties as instructed by the Head of HR & Finance and Country Director;
  • Regularly visit the bases for support, briefings and replacing staff if needed;
  • Any other task/duty that is necessary for TGH activities;
  1. Knowledge, skills and personal features required
  • BSc. Degree in relevant Field.
  • 1-2 year of relevant experience in Finance.
  • Fresh graduates with revenant 1 year internship in Finance department are encourage to apply.
  • Spoken and written English and Arabic.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to convey difficult and challenging information to managers.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work.
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
