ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position is based in Dongola and reports to the Head of Logistics.  

   
THE ROLE:
To provide specialized support functions and/or supervise staff performing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):


Provide support to logistics transport unit operations and activities, following standard processes and facilitating, directly or indirectly, the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries.

1. Capture all Waybills for deliveries to Cooperating Partners

2. Monitor all stocks remaining in transit and liaise with transporters to ensure Waybills are provided and captured timely

3. Produce Consolidated Dispatch Reports (CDR) to verify deliveries under STOs and support with invoice processing

4. Coordinate and manage the monthly physical inventory count (PIC) process, including liaising with other units to ensure a PIC Committee is present.

5. Support the rollout of LESS Last Mile and manage the implementation of the tool in coordination with Commodity Accounting and CP Management

6. Conduct monthly data quality checks for transport & warehouse transactions, including ensuring all interim areas are cleared

7. Provide technical support to transport and warehouse teams

8. Monitor and close open items (open OBD/IBD, STOs, and WOs)

9. Support the LESS & COMET reconciliation process

10. Monitor losses & ensure correct capturing of data with all documentation in place

11. Provide requests for all offline movements to Commodity Accounting

12. Any other tasks as required


Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.


Experience: Six or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous work in humanitarian organizations (United Nations or NGOs)
  • Experience maintaining corporate systems and running queries on transport, dispatch, and receipt of food and non-food items. Use of SAP ERP systems is necessary.
  • Experience in warehouse and stock management.
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.

Language: General Service (Field): Fluency (level C) in English and Arabic languages.
