MSF-Swiss is seeking to employ 1 (one) qualified candidate in the Khartoum Project for the position of MAM. Interested applicants may find the detailed job description of this position below.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Main Purpose of the position:
Defining, coordinating and monitoring the medical activities under the responsibility of project medical referent in Bahri and Sharq el Nil localities according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their communities as well as to improve the health condition of the target population in emergency settings
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic leadership
- Participate in defining, coordinating, and monitoring epidemic and medical activities in Bahri and Sharq el Nil localities, in line with MSF protocols, standards, and procedures, ensuring delivery of high-quality care in emergency settings marked by displacement and fragile health infrastructure.
- Participate in defining the overall project strategy, planning, and monitoring in close collaboration with the Project Medical Referent (PMR) and coordination team.
Implementation & coordination
- Coordinate the implementation of medical activities across the project’s main pillars:
Community Health
Primary Healthcare
Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH)
Nutrition
Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPREP)
- Supervising and ensuring that medical activities objectives under his/her responsibility are achieved, reporting to the technical referent any problem arising in the service
- Contribute to interdepartmental coordination with Health Promotion, WASH, and Logistics to ensure integrated and efficient delivery of services.
Quality of care
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to MSF medical protocols, IPC measures, nutrition treatment standards, patient safety and national MoH reporting requirements.
- Ensure availability and rational use of essential drugs and medical supplies; liaise with pharmacy and logistics team for forecasting
Human resources
- Coordinating and monitoring the daily working plan of the team under his/her responsibility (absent personnel, vacations, tracking leaves …).
- Participating in shifts and replaces a doctor, if necessary
- Participate in medical HR processes including recruitment, induction, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Monitoring & reporting
- Oversee collection, analysis, and use of medical data for decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all medical reports, including SitReps, Morbidity and Mortality Reports, DHIS2 data inputs and analysis
Monitor performance and health outcome indicators across all medical services (e.g, CTUs, ATFCs, ITFCs), ensuring appropriate documentation and corrective action as needed.
Minimum Qualification, Skills, and Experience Required:
Education: Medical doctor or paramedical degree. Desirable specialization or training in Tropical Medicine or related
Experience: 2-year experience minimum as a medical doctor; Previous experience at MSF or other NGOs desirable
Language: Fluent Arabic and English
Knowledge:
- Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
- Communication skills, and knowledge of Sudan health system, experience in emergency settings is an asset.
