Defining, coordinating and monitoring the supply chain activities in the project according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the optimal running of the project.

  • In collaboration with the Project Coordinator and the Supply Chain Coordinator or Logistics Coordinator, planning, establishing and reviewing the supply activities in the project including its budget, in order to identify and optimize the response to the needs of the mission and the targeted population
  • Monitoring and ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the following supply activities in the project: order processing, local purchase management, physical (warehousing) and administrative (management of movements) stock management, freight management, supply administration and implementation of standard supply tools (LogistiX 7, Q4, etc.)
  • Ensuring the availability of relevant management data to the owners of the stock, project and capital coordination (expired drugs, risk of shortages, stock reports, lead time, pipeline, etc.).
  • Managing the supply team in the project, and in collaboration with the PC, Supply Chain Co or LogCo and the HRCo, participating in the planning and implementation of HR associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication) of the staff under his / her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required to correctly perform all supply activities.
  • Participating in monthly reporting according to guidelines. 
  • International Orders Management: Support the preparation of international orders and ensure timely and accurate follow-up, under the supervision of the Supply Team Leader.
  • Data Analysis for Efficiency: Conduct data analysis to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for greater efficiency, with a particular focus on local procurement processes, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Regulatory and Context Analysis: Monitor and analyse the Sudanese regulatory and customary framework related to imports, taxation, maritime and inland transport, and cross-border movement. Analyse local market trends, reporting percentage increases in prices, and recommending mitigation measures. This includes advising and guiding STL and SupplyCo to optimize procurement strategies in line with market developments. Support the Customs & Transport function in its daily activities, and lead the codification of collected information into clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure knowledge retention and operational consistency.
  • Inter-agency Coordination and Information Sharing: Actively participate in intersectional forums on supply related topics and liaise with other humanitarian organisations to gather relevant information and keep the Supply Team Leader and the Supply Coordinator informed on developments in the regulatory environment affecting the supply chain. Prepare concise and accessible reports for coordination and project teams. Maintain close communication and collaboration with the pharma team to ensure importation processes are smooth and compliant with local procedures.
  • Field Visits and Backup Role: Conduct field visits (when required) to gain practical insight into project operations, ensuring readiness to provide backup for the Flying Supply Manager and the Supply Team Leader when needed.
  • Provide training and onboarding for newly hired team members to ensure they are familiar with the tools and software required to support the project efficiently. Develop a training calendar based on a needs analysis for each supply staff member at the coordination level (Transport and Customs Supervisor, Purchaser, and Storekeeper), ensuring the team receives training appropriate to their roles and project-specific requirements.
  • Along with the STL and the SupplyCO, promote responsible behavior within the supply team, actively ensures all team members adhere to the principles and values of the MSF Charter.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

 Education: Essential degree and specialization in Logistics/Supply Chain is an asset
Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in supply chain 

Languages:    Mission language essential. Local language desirable.
Knowledge:   Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
