ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
This position is based in Port Sudan and reports to Management Services.
THE ROLE
To perform a variety of site maintenance tasks to support safe, comfortable and reliable working environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Electrical and ACs Works:
- Monitor the office power supply, including city power, and generators. This includes internal installations, dismantling, and repairing of lights, cables, plugs, etc.
- Check and clean ACs including corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Receive electricity and water bills from related bodies in time and follow up on the payment process.
Plumbing and Carpentry Works:
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, and drainage systems, in all WFP premises in Port sudan.
- Assist in identifying all the plumbing materials needed, ensuring that there is always enough stock of the plumbing materials for ad-hoc needs.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems with daily inspection of all toilets and drains around the premises.
- Respond to plumbing emergencies requested at any time including weekends and holidays.
- Ensure adequate water supply to different WFP compounds, this includes communicating all water suppliers and keeping water tanks clean always.
- Assemble or repair WFP assets as needed, including office tables, chairs, drawers, and other office furniture, repairs to windows, doors, locks, etc.
- Perform any other related services requested by direct superiors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Completion of secondary school education.
Experience: Three or more years of related experience in site maintenance and record keeping procedures, and at least one year at G2 level or equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of machine operations and use of cleaning materials/solutions.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment and supplies in good working order.
- Knowledge of safety precautions.
- Ability to multi-task and respond simultaneously and in a timely fashion to job requirements.
- Ability to handle a large volume of work quickly and accurately under time constraints.
- Ability to maintain accurate and precise records.
- High sense of responsibility and punctuality.
- Honesty and integrity.
- Ability to draft correspondence and write and spell correctly.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Language: General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
