Background:
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
The GAVI Project Coordinator has an overall responsibility to provide leadership and coordination for implementation of the immunization project at level to all Field Operations and localities within the state., The GAVI Project Coordinator will work closely with state Ministry of Health for planning, coordination and implementation of the immunization program activities, including Routine immunization, surveillance, vaccine supply and cold chain management, BCU and acceleration campaigns and all other activities related to the project, plus internal management for direct reporting in immunization team, The Post holder will also work closely with the SCI MEAL team and finance team.

Duties and responsibilities:
- The GAVI Project Coordinator will provide support to the overall GAVI project planning, coordination, implementation, and reporting.
- Provide Support in designing and implementation of the monthly routine immunization (RI) micro-plans for the states.
- In close collaboration with MOH colleagues ensuring optimal coordination of routine immunization services in place through different vaccination modalities (Fixed, outreach, and mobile) and increasing vaccination coverage amongst the target children.
- Provide support and supervision for the Community engagement activities to ensure effective program implementation, which can support in identification of zero-doses and under-vaccinated children and provision of integrated services.
- Conduct field visits and provide technical support for improving the quality, accessibility and utilization of vaccination service at different levels in ND state.
- Provide support in review the regular reports such as coverage reports, supervision reports and community engagement reports.
- Support in Identifying the missed communities and Zero-doses for routine vaccination to inform the operational planning and the design of vaccination strategies to be addressed.
- Participate in the coordination meetings with F/SMOH and other partners.
- Provide weekly operation update and way forward.
- In coordination with the state RI tam and SMOH, ensure vaccines management is optimal by ensuring safe and timely delivery for the full package of vaccines and its related supplies as well as the PPEs are in place.
- Close coordination with SMOH-EPI for planning and implementation of the BCU and other immunization campaigns for reaching the zero-doses and under immunized children.
- Provide support the cold chain management and functionality at state level, including vaccine supply transportation and distribution up to the facility level, regular vaccine inventory with close coordination with SMOH-EPI team.
- Provide support for implementation of the surveillance activities, collection, transportation of sample and regular surveillance reports for the state.
- In close coordination with SCI finance team the coordinator is responsible for planning and managing all the financial resource that required for implementation the project activities at the state.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in health-related field is required, A master’s degree in public health or a related field will be an advantage
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years direct experience on Immunization program at the national or sub-national level in Sudan. Experience
- Skills and experience in project/programme implementation, monitoring, review, and evaluation including budget holding responsibilities.
- Experience of working with partners and a participatory approach
- Able to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
- Experience on field visits and technical supervision for EPI program
Skills: Good communication and coordination skills
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel (30%) within states.
