Duties
Provides facilities services to all American agencies with-in the American Embassy at any given time, by providing maintenance services (through tradesmen) to properties worth several million dollars (including a government-owned 8-unit residential compound, a government-owned community center, one government-owned residence (CMR), and 65 leased units and apartments building.) Reports directly to the Facilities Manager, who coordinates the work of the Maintenance section. The Maintenance supervisor operates with an unusual and substantial degree of independence. In the absence of the American Facilities Manager, The Maintenance Supervisor makes determinations about maintenance that normally would be made by an American FM. The incumbent Supervises 28 facilities staff members, which composed of three qualified tradesmen foreman, two carpenters, four electricians, four air-condition mechanics a maintenance inspector overseeing the quality of work being performed by contractors and in-house staff. three trades helper, and two gardeners. As Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative, oversees the work of contractors for trades and construction work, assuring quality control. Coordinates with procurement and warehouse sections to assure necessary equipment and supplies are available. Provides input directly to the General Services Officer for budget preparation. Inspect all future proposed leased properties to ensure that the unit is compliance with OBO standards.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years in maintenance, plus three years supervisory experience is required.
Job Knowledge:
Buildings and ground maintenance operations: trades practices and custom shop safety: workload planning and projections: characteristics and availability of materials: familiarity with local market for contract trades services. Sufficient knowledge of different trades (carpentry, electricity, welding and plumbing) to supervise effectively.
Education Requirements:
Successful completion of secondary school is required.

LANGUAGE:
