Context:


Working under the overall supervision of the Procurement and Logistics Officer, and the direct supervision of the Procurement and Logistics Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable to the following tasks and responsibilities in IOM Sudan.


Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the implementation and monitoring aspects related to procurement and logistical needs to support IOM’s humanitarian activities including maintain systems/procedures for procurement, supply and contracting of goods/works/services, asset management, documentation, and equipment upgrading.
  2. Liaise with the Senior Procurement and Logistics Officer regarding logistics requests and requirements and consolidate them.
  3. Assist in coordinating regular maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for and supervision of major repairs, timely oil changes, check of tires, brakes, and water levels, car washing keeping the vehicle clean and in good running condition.
  4. Support prompt, effective, and efficient supply and management of fuel consumption (both gasoline and diesel) for IOM official operations.   5. Examines the vehicle’s weekly mission schedule, anticipates needs, and reports any changes in the vehicle’s use plan.
  6. Support all field mission preparations (vehicle, equipment, routes, contacts, and so on).
  7. Assist the Senior Procurement and Logistics Assistant in following up on the work of cleaners and on the regular maintenance of the premises.
  8. Ensures that all required documents/supplies, such as vehicle insurance, registration, vehicle logs, check list, fuel form office directory, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts, are available in the assigned vehicle.
  9. Assist the Senior Procurement and Logistics Assistant in coordinating the tasks of Drivers and the overall fleet management of IOM Vehicles.
  10. Undertake duty travel to support other offices request for logistics support.
  11. Undertake any other duties within the incumbent’s capabilities that might be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience


Education
 University Degree in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain, or any
other related fields with two years of relevant experience, or, School certificate with
relevant experience and training.


Experience
 Experience in IOM or other UN agencies in the area of Procurement an Logistics.
 Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
 Experience in supporting the implementation of internal controls.
 Experience in working in a diverse organization.
 Experience of using ERP system such as SAP or similar tools.


Languages
Fluency in English & Arabic
