At WFP, we are looking for an experienced Programme Associate (Beneficiary Management & SCOPE) to support our Digitalization teams in Nyala and Kassala – 01 Position SSA 6 Level in each duty station, Sudan.

WFP Sudan, one of the largest and complex operations for WFP globally, is currently rolling out its five-year Country Strategic Plan (2019-2023), which aims to provide emergency assistance through cash and food, along with life-changing types of programmes (Nutrition, Resilience and School Feeding).

JOB PURPOSE:

SCOPE is WFP’s beneficiary information and transfer management system that helps WFP know better the people we serve, so the assistance we provide can be targeted and appropriate. SCOPE is used to register people and deliver assistance across all transfer modalities (food or cash).

 The purpose of this position is to provide support to digitalization and programme activities related to the implementation of SCOPE.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Reporting directly to the Digitalization Officer and under the overall supervision of the Head of Programme Unit in the various duty stations, the Programme Associate will be responsible for the following:

  1. Coordinate, review and execute data formatting, data analysis, data cleaning and management, ensuring quality of information and alignment with processes and guidance.
  2. Provide support to project management in specific and defined activities of considerable size and complexity, ensuring a coordinated approach with different functional areas and offices.
  3. Assist the Digitalization team in the planning, budgeting, and implementation of registration activities, including engaging in cross-functional discussions/coordination required to operationalize the registration activities.
  4. Assist the Digitalization team in the preparatory tasks related to setting-up the interventions in SCOPE and related to support the use of SCOPE.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES II

5. Develop and coordinate data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.

6. Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting that enables informed decision making and consistency of information.

7. Liaise with counterparts at field offices, area office and country office to ensure effective collaboration and support for the follow-up of ongoing digitalization activities.

8. Support the capacity building of WFP staff and partners e.g., through the provision of inputs to training materials and delivery of trainings when needed.

9. Guide and supervise junior staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with analysis and queries.

10. Any other duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

University degree in Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Management or other field relevant to humanitarian and development assistance, or a relevant first university degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.

Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible related work experience in programme or project management, analysis and database systems, information technology, M&E, business administration or other related fields is required, as well as solid skills in Excel and knowledge of data collection/analysis methods. Strong analytical and coordination skills is an advantage.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written English and Arabic.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:

The desired candidate should have the following experience:

  • Has contributed to implementation of programmes and programme activities or has worked with technical teams in humanitarian and development programming. 
  • Has experience in planning and collecting data, conducting analyses and reporting findings.
