JOB PURPOSE
To deliver standard software and hardware support services, as well as monitoring and maintaining a wide range of information sources, to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation and testing of data cabling systems (cables, racks, conduits, patch panels, etc.), ensuring compliance with technical standards and best practices
- Conduct regular maintenances, upgrades and enhancements of existing installations.
- Assess the needs for new cabling installations and produce reports and lists of materials for the relevant works.
- Inspect cabling installations and produce reports on their conditions and needs for maintenance
- Work with IT teams to support the development of integrated IT support services.
- Support the development and implementation of plans for the delivery of a full range of IT services and improvements to methods and processes in order to meet operational requirements.
- Keep up-to-date technical documentation on cabling installations
- Follow up on all incidents involving cabling installations and ensure all are treated appropriately.
- Perform other related duties as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: :Secondary school certificate. Diploma’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology would be desirable.
Experience: Four or more years of experience in the field of cabling.
Language: Fluency (level A) in English language.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
- Has proven experience complex network management, IT and Telecom system management in emergencies.
- Has experience resolving more complex technical issues.
- Previous work experience as a cable technician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and data cabling systems.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix any problems that may arise affecting cabling and physical data channels.
