Summary:

Under the managerial and technical supervision of the Health Manager, the Pharmacy Supervisor will be fully responsible to ensure the availability of medical supplies and drugs in all health facilities, ensuring that SMOH pharmaceutical guidelines are adhered to, and availability of needed documentation including stock cards and bin cards in all health facilities and the warehouses.

Essential Job Functions:

Under the technical supervision of the Health Manager will: 

  • Ensure qualified and experienced seconded staff are recruited in the health facilities’ pharmacies. 
  • Oversee training and coaching of the seconded pharmacy assistants 
  • Compile and review all pharmacy reports and send them to the Health Manager for further review and submission to the relevant individuals. 
  • Working with the supply chain team, ensuring timely submission of procurement requests, supporting the timely delivery of health supplies, and ensuring supporting documentation is received to verify delivery. 
  • Ensure timely collection of weekly and monthly data from project sites, analyzing data with support from the Health Manager and Technical Coordinators to ensure evidenced based implementation and review of project progress. 
  • Ensure good storage conditions in all pharmacies 
  • Ensure continuous availability of health essential supplies in all project sites. 
  • Ensure availability of updated stock and bin cards in all project sites. 
  • Organize and coordinate monthly support supervision sites to project sites and ensure that findings are shared in reports, discussed and action points followed up. 
  • Collaborate with relevant field organizations and partners to ensure RI’s programming is in line with the health sector working group standards and approaches. 

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Pharmacy degree/diploma from an accredited University   
  • Minimum 3 years working in the implementation of primary health care programs at field/clinic level with at least 1 year with INGOs.   
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) 
  • Working knowledge of English, with the ability to write in both English and Arabic languages. 
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as a part of a team 
  • Strong communication, management, and capacity-building (coaching) skills
