Duties and responsibilities:
Background:
CRS Sudan will be implementing an emergency food security program to address acute food security shocks in Sudan. The project will serve as a food pipeline for affected populations in Central and West Darfur.
Job Summary:
You will assist project implementation by working directly with local partners and community members, coordinating project activities and events in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work to serve the poor and vulnerable. Your service and community relations skills ensure that the local partners and communities feed into and benefit from the project that consistently applies best practices and continuously works towards improving its impact.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitor food distribution activities at the field level, ensuring implementation schedules are met as per the distribution plan and monitoring schedule, and that adherence to systems for quality project implementation are strengthened.
- Conduct risk monitoring visits at field warehouses using the ICT4D devices for the various factors against a monitoring checklist (upholding high standards of equipment maintenance, accurate input of data, and timely synchronization of data as specified by the project protocols).
- Submit timely and accurate synchronization of all reports via ICT4D-established platform and protocols by 5th of each month and ensure immediate reporting of incidents to supervisor in writing or by phone (and following up in writing).
- Coordinate communication and facilitate information sharing among the project team, implementing partners, and project beneficiaries at the community level to assist local partners in strengthening the community interest, involvement and support networks.
- Liaise with various community stakeholders and mobilize them to ensure full involvement of community leaders, community representatives, and local government representatives in the overall implementation and improvement of project activities.
- In coordination with the project team support capacity building events for community representatives.
- Compile data provided at the community level as per project requirements and contribute to the preparation of reports.
- Conducts exit meeting with the partner’s management staff to discuss observations, findings and possible recommendations that may be reported at the end of the monitoring visit, and ensures meeting is documented through meeting notes.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education and Experience
- Completion of BA/BSC Degree in related field with 3 years’ relevant experience.
- Additional education may substitute for some experience.
- Computer skills required.

- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups
- Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented
Required/Desired Foreign Language: Fluent written and spoken English is required; fluent written and spoken Arabic is preferred.
Travel Required (include percentage of required travel, if applicable): 75-80% of travel

Supervisory: None
Internal: Senior Project Officer – Risk Monitoring (supervisor), Compliance Officers, Project team members.
External: Local government authorities, Communities, etc.
