Background:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organization striving to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for enthusiastic and motivated persons to fill the position of Security Guards in Kadugli.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Apply the security rules at all times.
  • Welcome, screen, report/record and announce all visitors and vehicles arriving at the assigned premises.
  • Immediately reports any problem/incident or anything suspicious to his/her hierarchical supervisor.
  • Performs regular checks of the premises/compound (including fire extinguishers, windows, doors, lights and piping) to prevent incidents.

Makes sure that the guard post is not left unattended (i.e. does not leave the post until the guard on the next shift has arrived) and ensures proper handover to the next shift

Qualification

  • Sudanese nationality
  • High school
  • Previous experience in the same field.
  • Basic knowledge of English.
  • Good physical conditions

Our structure

The ICRC is governed by an Assembly, an Assembly Council (a subsidiary body with certain delegated powers), and a Directorate (the executive body). Both the Assembly, with up to 25 co-opted members of Swiss nationality, and the Assembly Council are chaired by Peter Maurer, who has been President of the ICRC since 1 July 2012. He is assisted by a Vice-President, Gilles Carbonnier.
