Under the overall supervision of Supply Chain Officer, and the direct supervision of National Supply Chain officer and coordination with the Warehouse Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the Warehouse Management activities for IOM Sub offices.

1. Assist in the overall management of the warehouse by receiving the goods, updating the warehouse records in the database, and dispatching the goods for operations in Port Sudan.

2. Assist in receiving goods from vendors/transporters and assist in inspecting the quantity/quality and to verify if they all meet the same specifications and standards ordered.

3. Assist in monitoring the loading/offloading activities at the warehouse whenever taking place as well as the hired labour workers to cover the job properly.

4. Assist with the verification of documents received from the vendors related to goods received and services provided at the warehouse with Procurement and Logistics colleagues before payment is released.

5. Responsible for issuing the “Receiving Report Forms/Goods Receive Note” for the new arrival items into the warehouse and for issuing the “Stock Release Authorization Form/Waybill” when releasing items from the warehouse.

6. Assist with the conduct physical inventory of items in the warehouse and provide updates on the inventory records upon completing each activity.

7. Assist in keeping the entire warehouse facility well maintained. Ensure that goods are stacked, stored and updating the stock cards where necessary including the security and safety measures of the warehouse premises in coordination with the Office of the Staff Security.

8. Draft bi-weekly reports to be shared with the Management and concerned Program Managers.

9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Education

Completed university degree in Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or High school degree in the above fields from an accredited academic institution with minimum four years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Experience in verifying documents received from the vendors;

• Experience in drafting bi-weekly inventory report;

• Working knowledge of issuing the “Receiving Report Forms/Goods Receive Note” for the new arrival items into the warehouse;

• Working knowledge in using MS Office applications;

• Experience working with UN or other humanitarian agencies, an advantage.

• Prior knowledge and experience in warehouse operations are preferred.

SKILLS

Knowledge in MS Office applications

Good communication skills on community basis is desired.

Develops / follows internal control procedures to prevent fraud and mismanagement.

Languages

Fluency in English (oral and written) and Working knowledge of Arabic.
