Planning, coordinating and monitoring all logistics related activities in the project or capital and providing support to medical assistance activities, according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the project
As the Project Logistics Manager for MSF Spain’s operations in Khartoum State, you will ensure the efficient and safe delivery of logistical support to medical activities, with a strong focus on team leadership, infrastructure, fleet, and supply systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support medical activities through reliable infrastructure, energy systems, cold chain, water and sanitation, and biomedical equipment maintenance.
- Manage the full fleet of MSF vehicles and drivers, ensuring safe staff movement, proper vehicle tracking, preventive maintenance, fuel follow-up, and transport planning.
- Oversee infrastructure and premises: construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of MSF’s office, guesthouse, warehouse, and project health facilities (e.g., PHCC).
- Ensure stable and secure communications, including radio (HF/VHF) and internet connectivity, to support both daily operations and emergency readiness.
- Supervise logistics teams (log supervisor, supply officer, drivers, watchmen), ensuring daily task planning, coaching, and performance management.
- Coordinate local procurement and supply chain operations, ensuring compliance with MSF standards in ordering, receiving, stock follow-up, and reporting.
- Implement and monitor security and risk reduction measures, including base protection, movement safety, and emergency preparedness (hibernation kits, evacuation tools).
- Participate in planning and reporting, contributing to monthly logistics sitreps and budget forecasts, and advising on operational decisions at project level.
Minimum Qualification, Skills, and Experience Required:
Minimum Essential Requirements (Must-Have):
- Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- At least 2 years of logistics management experience (preferably in a humanitarian/INGO context)
- Proven team management experience and coordinating multisectoral logistics.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
- Computer skills – proficient in Excel, Word, and basic IT troubleshooting
Desirable (Strong Assets)
- Experience with security and risk management in insecure contexts
- Experience with energy systems, ICT, and radio communication (HF/VHF)
- Previous work with MSF or similar medical-humanitarian organizations
- Experience in emergency response logistics
