The Information Management (IM) Assistant will work under the supervision of the IM Officer and the technical guidance of the CM Project Manager (PM) and Camp Management (CM) Coordinator. The IM Assistant ensures consistency and quality of data collection and management by the CM teams, supports the development of tools and processes, manages databases, and ensures data confidentiality processes are in place and respected. The IM assistant conducts regular data entry, and analysis and produces regular reports and products for internal and external use following is a brief description of the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines
- Assist with the implementation of the protection and CM portfolio according to project work plan
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper collection and filing of documents (hard and soft copies)
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the CM function
- Support capacity building around technology and data collection to the field teams as required
- Ensure the CM team has tools, processes, and capacity in place to collect, store, and share accurate and timely information and data on sites/areas where IDPs and returnees are located, with the aim to identify gaps and needs and support humanitarian programming.
- Ensure that data collected from the CM teams are saved and stored in the system and in physical archives.
- Ensure data cleaning and support the IM Technical officer with analyzing and interpreting multiple datasets, identifying trends and patterns in protection issues and humanitarian needs affecting NRC’s targeted beneficiaries
- Ensure databases are updated and support the CM team in the day-to-day management of data and processes, ensuring consistency and quality of data from regular information collection (e.g. partner reporting, service mapping, 4Ws, service indicator monitoring/site monitoring, CRM)
- Ensure regular, clear internal and external communication and reporting of data and information from NRC areas of intervention
- Support the IM Technical officer in drafting information products such as reports, charts, and infographics by turning data into graphic products to facilitate the dissemination of information to external stakeholders for the purpose of reporting, information sharing, and advocacy.
- Ensure the compliance of information systems and processes with the applicable standards and guidelines related to information management and data protection, including the Protection Information Management (PIM) standards and principles and NRC’s internal guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experience from working in camp-based humanitarian projects, or in community engagement practices in humanitarian situations is an asset
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- A university degree in a relevant subject is preferred
- At least 1 year of relevant experience at the national or international level in information management, data collection, database management, mapping, and web development, or 1 year’s experience working in NRC.
- Proven abilities in data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting
- Previous experience in Infographic management and GIS is beneficial
- Good Experience in the use of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and analysis software.
- Strong Experience in the use of Kobo, ODK, and other tools for data collection.
- Previous experience in different data collection methodologies and analysis of statistical information
- Previous experience in the field of M&E and Information management in the humanitarian sector is an asset
- Preferred to be located in Geneina.
