The Project Officer_CP (SHF Project) will provide
support to child protection activities to ensure Plan International’s program in Kassala effectively promotes child rights and protection. This role will implement comprehensive child protection strategies, focusing on safeguarding children and young people while integrating child protection measures into all project stages. The officer will strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms, address child protection concerns, and implement feedback systems to promote community participation and sustainability.
The position involves overseeing
the execution of safeguarding policies in Plan’s field offices, ensuring that child protection is embedded in program operations, and coordinating with teams for risk assessments and action planning. The officer will monitor project activities to ensure compliance with child protection requirements and work closely with M&E teams to review and assess project outcomes. This role requires collaboration with community members to activate and support Community-Based Child Protection Mechanisms (CBCPM) and maintain robust feedback channels to capture and address community concerns.
Essential criteria for this role include
a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Social Sciences, or related fields, with substantial knowledge of national and international child rights instruments. The candidate must have at least two years of experience in child protection in humanitarian and development contexts, proficiency in English and Arabic, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to mentor and train on child protection topics.
