The Finance Assistant will provide:
The primary responsibility of the Finance Assistant is to support the financial management team at the Country Office by providing accurate and timely financial information. This role ensures that all financial processes are efficiently managed, aiding in effective decision-making within Plan International Sudan’s Country Finance Department.
The position involves overseeing:
The Finance Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, processing payments, managing petty cash, and ensuring proper filing and documentation of financial transactions. The role includes liaising with banks and creditors, preparing tax payments, processing third-party payments, and managing bank accounts to ensure sufficient balances. Additionally, the assistant will consolidate cash forecasts, prepare bank reconciliations, update staff advance registers, and support the monitoring of grants budgets. This position also requires ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and supporting external audits.
Essential criteria for this role include:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with 2 years of experience and a minimum of 1 year in INGO in an accounting, or finance role. A strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures, proficiency in computer skills (including relevant software), and a working knowledge of written and spoken English are essential.

Physical environment requirements for this role include:
This role is based in a typical office environment at the Country Office, with no travel required. The Finance Assistant will work in an indoor setting, primarily utilizing computer systems and office equipment to perform daily tasks. The role requires a well-organized workspace to manage documentation and financial records efficiently.
