The Project Manager – Joint Response JR5 will provide:
The primary responsibility of the Project Manager (PM) is to lead the Joint Response JR5 project team, ensuring successful implementation of the project across the targeted regions in Sudan, including North Darfur and South Kordofan. The role involves guiding the project team, managing resources, risks, and ensuring that project objectives are met in alignment with Plan International’s strategic goals and donor requirements.
The position involves overseeing:
The PM will oversee the development and execution of detailed annual work plans, manage stakeholder relationships, ensure compliance with organizational and donor policies, and lead the project team to achieve the desired outcomes. This includes supervising up to 6 staff members, managing project documentation, budgets, and ensuring effective communication between all parties involved. The PM will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the project’s progress, conducting site visits, and ensuring that child protection measures are integrated into all project activities.
Essential criteria for this role include:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Management, Rural Development, or a related field, with a master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years of project management experience at the field level, with at least 3 years in a similar position, is required. Experience with international humanitarian NGOs, strong problem-solving skills, and fluency in English and Arabic are essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience working in community-based programs or project management in humanitarian FSL & protection sectors.

Physical environment requirements for this role include:
The Project Manager will need to work in a challenging environment that involves frequent travel to remote and conflict-affected areas, such as North Darfur, South Kordofan, when possible. The role requires the ability to operate in extreme weather conditions, including very hot and humid climates. Additionally, the PM must be prepared to work outside regular office hours when necessary, often under high-pressure situations and with a heavy workload. Adaptability and resilience are crucial to successfully managing the demands of this position.
