The Organisation
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
The Project Manager (SPAD) will provide
Leadership and management for the implementation of the “Supporting Children Affected by Armed Conflicts in North and South Kordofan” project funded by the European Commission (EC). This role ensures the project’s objectives are met effectively, adheres to Plan International and donor policies, and promotes gender and child protection measures. Reporting to the Kordofan Area Program Manager, the Project Manager will oversee all project phases, from planning and monitoring to evaluation, while fostering partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
The position involves overseeing
All aspects of the grant, including planning, implementation, and compliance. This includes managing project risks, budgets, and partnerships, as well as leading a team to achieve high performance. The Project Manager will ensure effective coordination with government stakeholders, donors, and partners, and will represent the project in relevant forums. Responsibilities also include integrating child protection mechanisms, maintaining security protocols, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders. Additionally, the role will involve capacity building for partners and staff, as well as facilitating project audits, reviews, and evaluations.
Essential criteria for this role include
