As the Finance Coordinator – Grants and Partnerships, you will work closely with the country finance team and Save the Children International (SCI)’s implementing partners. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring effective financial management solutions at the country office level, while maintaining compliance with SCI’s operational platform and essential standards. You will contribute to the stewardship of agency assets and reputation, ensuring alignment with local laws, regulations, and donor requirements.

Scope of Role

Reports To: Finance Manager – Grants and Partnerships
Dimensions:

  • You will handle a diverse range of financial tasks, covering various field offices while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • The role demands a self-driven, proactive approach, with the ability to thrive in complex operational environments.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to complex countries where Save the Children operates.
  • Monthly and Quarterly Financial Reviews: Perform reviews and analysis, reconciliation of partner accounts, and monitoring of key financial performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Partner Liquidations: Review and ensure timely and accurate partner liquidations.
  • Technical Support to Partners: Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to local partners.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Assist in submitting monthly cash flow forecasts for partner payments.
  • Financial Tools Management: Ensure internal financial tools like Agresso, ProSave, TIM, and FSC are effectively used, ensuring data quality and operational efficiency.
  • Compliance with Financial Standards: Support the country in meeting and sustaining essential standards for financial management, ensuring adherence to SCI’s financial policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the country finance team and establish strong relationships with implementing partners, ensuring smooth operational performance.
  • Accountability: Hold yourself and the team accountable for decisions, results, and adhering to organizational values.
  • Ambition: Set challenging goals and encourage personal and team development. Think strategically with a global outlook.
  • Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting diversity and cross-cultural teamwork.

  • Education: Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: CPA/CA/ACCA is highly desirable.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of progressive work experience in the not-for-profit sector.
    • Experience in financial management, including preparing both financial and management accounts for overseas offices.
    • Proven track record in building strong business partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling abilities.
    • Experience with complex financial systems, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent communication skills with a focus on meeting tight deadlines and working independently.

    • Flexibility to travel frequently within the country to field programmes.
