The Embassy of Sweden in Khartoum has a geographical scope that covers the Republic of Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan. Today we are 33 staff members in Khartoum and Juba. The working language is English, which is expected to be mastered by all staff members.

Sweden is a Scandinavian nation with thousands of coastal islands and inland lakes, along with vast boreal forests and glaciated mountains. Its principal cities, eastern capital Stockholm and southwestern Gothenburg and Malmö, are all coastal. Stockholm is built on 14 islands. It has more than 50 bridges, as well as the medieval old town, Gamla Stan, royal palaces and museums such as open-air Skansen.

Almost 40 universities are located in Sweden, many of which make it into top ranks globally, such as Uppsala University, Lund University or Stockholm University. Sweden has been one of the European pioneers for switching to English-language tuition and offers a whopping 900 degrees to choose from.

Studying in Sweden is free of charge for citizens of the EU/EEA and those with a permanent Swedish residence permit. Others may have to pay tuition fees that commonly ranges between 80,000 and 140,000 SEK per year – ca. 8,000 to 15,000 EUR, or 9,000 to 17,000 USD. There is also an application fee for those from outside the EU/EEA.

Duties and responsibilities:

The Receptionist/Administrative Officer’s liabilities would incorporate, yet not be restricted to, the accompanying:

  • Work the Embassy’s focal switchboard;
  • Welcome visitors and guests to the Embassy;
  • Help with the booking of flights, lodgings and so on identified with obligation travel of staff;
  • Maintain contacts and concurrences with specialist organizations (telecom, inns, and travel services);
  • Aid consular and public accountant assignments;
  • Be a group chief for drivers, arranges vehicle appointments for outside gatherings, directs the Embassy’s fuel the executives;
  • Be a group chief for cleaners, answerable for the course of action and request of provisions;
  • Foster regulatory techniques in meeting with the Head of Administration;
  • Help as a reinforcement for the monetary official.

Qualification

  • College diploma in secretarial science and office management or relevant studies.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge as receptionist, knowledge in the field of public administration and/or experience from Embassy work.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and English.
  • Legal residence and work permit in Sudan.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to relate to government and international institutions.
  • Being a team-player, both internally and externally, with good communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiatives and work independently.
  • Outgoing, flexible, and able to handle stress well.
