Duration of the post: Short Term – 6 Months
Job Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Census Chief Technical Advisor (CTA), the incumbent will perform driving of UNFPA vehicle assigned for the CTA for official business and delivery and collection of documents, mails, and other items as advised by the CTA.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
The CTA Driver will support the Census CTA as follows:
- Drives CTA’s vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items in Khartoum and field.
- Meets the CTA and other official personnel (as advised by the CTA) at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities, as required.
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs.
- Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean.
- Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.
- Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken, in case of involvement in an accident.
- Performs other duties, as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum two years of proven work experience,
- Safe driving record
Education:
- Minimum Secondary Education Certificate with two years relevant experience
Knowledge and Experience:
- Willing to travel to and serve in field locations temporarily, depending on the needs of the job.
Languages:
- Arabic and minimum level of English
