Context

As part of IFAD mandate to support smallholder farmers and rural development, the Sudan ICO works with farmer organizations and youth groups. An assessment is ongoing to assess the impact of COVID19 on such organizations and their flexibility in times of crisis.

Task description

IFAD is looking for 1 volunteer to support in the translation of a questionnaire from Arabic to English. The questionnaire is 2 pages long. Once translated, it will be submitted to a farmer organization in Sudan. The volunteer will then be requested to translate the replies in English. The document will be used by the organization to assess the impact of COVID-19 on smallholder farmers and the assistance provided by farmers organizations.

Requirements

Required experience

Candidates should be native in Arabic and fluent in English. Familiarity with technical terms related to agriculture and rural development will be considered an advantage. A one-paragraph translation will be requested as part of the selection process.
