WFP is looking for a qualified Human Resources (Benefits and Entitlements team) who will support delivering professional, client-focused services, partnering with managers and clients to address their concerns and implement HR solutions in line with WFP cooperate priorities.

This position is based in Port Sudan Country Office and will report to the Head of Benefits and Entitlements team.
THE ROLE
To deliver professional, client-focused HR services, partnering with managers to implement HR solutions in line with WFP corporate priorities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):
- Act as main focal point at the country office level for all the national staff monthly payroll as well as other benefits and ensure they are processed accurately within the set deadline in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
- Coordinate and deal with staff requests related to their salaries and entitlement on daily basis and ensure they are promptly addressed.
- Alert on monthly basis the HR focal points across the country on monthly on the required actions for meeting the payroll deadlines.
- Liaise with our external payroll counterpart (UNDP), RB and HQ for any activity or issue that requires their actions.
- Ensure any action of staff appointment/reappointment, extension of contracts as well as separation actions are taken promptly in line with the applicable rules and regulations.
- Support on any project related to benefits and entitlements of staff in the country office. Provide advice to managers and employees, understanding their needs and ensuring policies, procedures, processes, systems and tools are available and correctly applied to support them.
- Provide effective management of the employment relationship between WFP and its staff, by administering conditions of service, contracts and appropriate entitlements, and resolving employee relations issues.
- Support organizational design activities that enable senior management to define and organize structures and jobs and allocate people to the right places in order to improve efficiency.
- Deal with post-management issues as well as updating of the organigramme on regular basis Guide and supervise junior staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with analysis and queries.
- Collate and analyze data to prepare accurate and timely reporting, supporting a WFP-wide view of HR activities that enables informed decision-making and consistent information for stakeholders.
- Support in providing staff data to different units as requested in line with the rules.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by implementing new/updated HR policies, procedures and systems and recommending improvements to ways of working.
- Other as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience (5 years) or training/courses.
Experience: Three or more years of postgraduate professional experience in Human Resources with an interest in international humanitarian development.

- Has provided direction and instruction to more junior staff members within area of expertise.
- Has gained extensive experience providing administrative and systems support across multiple activities in the employment life cycle including recruitment, interviews, training support, performance management, relocation support, and policy implementation within a country office environment.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE – CENTRE OF EXPERTISE:
- Has provided direction and instruction to more junior staff members within their area of expertise
- Has gained extensive experience providing administrative and systems support across multiple activities in the employment life cycle including training support, relocation support, and policy implementation within a country office environment.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English and Arabic languages.
