JOB PURPOSE
The Fuel Attendant works in support for the WFP Ed Daein sub office Fleet Fuel Management to facilitate the completion of all fuel tasks in WFP sub office Offices WFP-owned and rented fuel depots and performs a variety of tasks related to different areas of fuel handling including depot cleanliness, general fuel pump maintenance and other fuel related functions done with integrity and accuracy in accordance with the policies/procedures and normative guidelines as set by WFP.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Perform daily checks on refueling equipment.
- Activate fuel pumps.
- Responsible for fuel gauging (dipstick check) on daily basis (morning & afternoon COB).
- Fill up diesel or petrol to WFP Fleet trucks, LVT’s, gen-sets, and other vehicles authorized by WFP based on approved issued fuel coupon.
- Enter data into FMS (Fleet management system) or any other software package.
- Complete refueling tasks in a safe manner.
- Collect fuel coupons and submit to WFP Fleet/Admin Unit for record purposes.
- Check documentation upon suppliers’ fuel tanker arrived in WFP fuel depot.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES II
- Receive/offload fuel from the commercial (supplier)/WFP tanker to the main tank (WFP-owned and rented fuel tanks) and report any discrepancies or irregularities to immediate supervisor.
- Fill up drums (as per WFP Fleet/Admin Unit advice) in case of emergency.
- Prepare daily (receive and issuing) reports of fuel and send to WFP area office Fleet Manager/officer.
- Submit to WFP AO Managers/Officers the related to suspicious activities in and around fuel station.
- Check fuel quality, operate fuel meter, record issuance, and handling spills adequately.
- Report all mechanical & operational safety issues about fuel depot.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES III
- Documentation of all work records, electronic and manual.
- Maintain proper filing systems and archiving of documents so that they may be retrieved promptly and efficiently when required.
- Clean and maintain fuel depot area.
- Ensure proper safety practices/measures/equipment are in-place in fuel depot, especially during emergency cases like fire, flood, etc.
- Answer questions related to fuel issue handling and provide directions if needed.
- Share experience gained with other staff members and strives towards creating good team building and harmonious atmosphere.
- Travel occasionally within the country as required by the Organization.
- Perform any other duties as requested by immediate Supervisor.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher diploma in mechanical Engineering/ business administration or equivalent.
- Held a position of Fuel depot assistant or similar job in a company/NGO with at least 3 years’ experience gained in the relevant field.
- Good working knowledge and experience working with Microsoft MS Office Suite.
- Comprehensive understanding and good working knowledge with Microsoft Access (Relational Database Management System).
- Good working knowledge with Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer.
- Good command of the English Language, both written and spoken is mandatory.
