At WFP, we are looking for motivated a Site Maintenance Plumber for our Khartoum office to support the office operations and to be hired on a Service Contract at the SC-1 level.

JOB PURPOSE
To support site maintenance services in providing Plumbing and other related manual work, to ensure WFP premises are well-organized, kept in a clean & hygienic condition, and are in compliance with the established standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The staff member will work under the direct supervision of the (Facilities Manager).
- Carry out all plumbing repairs within the office, Workshop, and warehouse premises including works in the restrooms, utility area (water treatment plant, sewage tank, water storage tanks), and external works;
- Replacement of flushing mechanism in water closets, water closet ball valves;
- Repairs leaking/dripping taps; water closets etc., tightening of valves;
- Provision of drain sink/wash basin plugs;
- Clearing of airlock and elimination of blockages in sewage and wastewater lines; wash-hand basins; bathtubs and shower trays;
- Washing of water storage tanks (The Contractor shall submit a schedule of maintenance for this activity covering a period of 12 months to WFP within 5 five days of execution of the LTA);
- Replacement of faulty float switch as may be necessary from time to time;
- Replacement of interception valves (gate valves; stop corks etc.);
- Chisel block wall to expose leaking water pipes etc. and return the wall to its initial stage;
- Maintain all existing plumbing installations using the necessary tools and rectify plumbing issues as may occur;
- Ensure all plumbing networks are in good working condition and all conveniences are functioning well.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- This vacancy is open to qualified Sudanese Nationals Only;
- Completion of secondary school education is an asset;
- At least one year of experience in providing general maintenance services and support. Experience in a field office environment is desirable;
- Fluency (level C) in English and Arabic languages are essential for this position.
