You’ll contribute to ending world hunger by …

Host communities to the Local partner at state level and coordination with the nutrition and health, Wash, and mental health practices gender protection sectors To support the implementation of Food Security and Livelihood (including Cash, DRR / DRM) projects in refugee, IDP and care .

To monitor, and support the implementation of Food Security and Livelihood (including Cash, provision of farming and livestock inputs, agriculture good practices, food processing, demonstration events, and DRR / DRM) project activities with the Partner NGO and to provide technical support to the project staffs of a local partner for the implementation of FSL activities: Food security interventions, Agriculture inputs and Homestead gardening inputs and training etc.

  • Objective 1: Implementation of FSL activities including emergencies. 
  • Responsibilities:
  • Ensure implementation of FSL (Food, Agriculture inputs and kits) activities under the guidance of the FSL Coordinator PM/Head of Base (HOB), according to the work plan developed with the FSL Coordinator /PM/Head of Base (HOB) •Participate in the development of project follow-up and supervision tools and apply the project’s follow-up and supervision tools .
  • Supervise the beneficiary’s selection process by the local partner and participate in the selection process.
  •  Assist FSL Coordinator /FSL PM/Head of Base (HOB) in the establishment of a beneficiary’s database system .
  • Identify and inform the FSL Coordinator /FSL PM/Head of Base (HOB) of any problems or constraints.
  •  Propose solutions or improvements for the smooth running of the project. 
  • Coordinate field activities and provide technical support to the local partner’s staff in the field. 
  • Liaison with government service providers and facilitate the partnership with the local partner at the state and localities level.
  • Objective 2: Local partner’s Staff capacity building for smooth implementation of the FSL project. 
  • Responsibilities:
  •  Participate in training module development on FSL for staff and beneficiaries training .
  • Arrange and conduct foundation training and refreshers training for staff .
  • Provide technical assistance to the local partners for implementation interventions whenever needed. Follow-up and supervision with constructive feedback
  • Objective 3: Support networking and Coordination.
  •  Responsibilities: 
  • Participate in Food Security Sector meetings including inter/intra departmental coordination at the base level. •Support coordination and liaison with government, non-government agencies and other stakeholders working at the state level. 
  • Support to represent the FSL interventions in different meetings with authorities and clusters at the state level. Maintain good contacts with relevant NGOs, Line ministries and local authorities at the state level. 
  • Objective 4: Project activities monitoring and reporting ,
  • Responsibilities
  • Participate in developing different monitoring tools (baseline & end line survey, post distribution monitoring (PDM) Assist in organizing and conducting baseline & end line surveys, PDM.
  •   Regular monitoring and follow-up of the project’s progress. 
  • Assist FSL PM in writing relevant reports (APR, donor report, monitoring report, Case Story etc.)
  • Objective 5: Participate in need assessments and surveys when necessary. 
  • Responsibilities:
  •  Participate in food security Rapid need assessments and surveys when needed .
  • Participate in emergency food security response if any kind of disaster occurred .

Do you meet the profile required criteria?

  • Qualification/training: Masters/Bachelor in Agricultural Science in general and /or, experience in the field of Food Security and livelihood (including DRM) and /or a similar relevant field in particular. 
  • Technical specific knowledge: Good knowledge on FSL systems and techniques, capacity to work with a local partner, good relational qualities and flexibility.
  •  Good knowledge on implementing projects, training, facilitation skills and good knowledge on program monitoring. Good knowledge on Value chain and PRAM and PVCA/PLA methods. 
  • Previous experience (years):Proven professional experience in Food Security and Livelihoods projects /programs implementation, monitoring-follow-up & evaluation preferably with an international NGO for at least 2-3 years, proven professional experience in Project Cycle Management. 
  • Proven working experience in partnership with a local partner: 1-2 years minimum Experienced in Community based approach would be added advantage. DRM and emergency response/recovery-related experience would be an added value. Humanitarian sector knowledge: Prior humanitarian experience would be an added value.
  •  Organization knowledge: Prior INGO experience is required. Languages:Medium writing and oral English (fair) and Arabic mandatory IT systems:Familiar of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Mobility (national/ international)Based in the Blue Nile, with frequent trips to áreas of intervention in the localities of Blue Nile states Commitment to Gender Equality Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.
  • Based in: Sudan – Kadugli with required travel to Areas of intervention   
  • Position length: 1 year (renewable based on Evalution) 
  • Line manager: FSL Coordinator . 
  • Salary: 1100-1155 USD (Gross) 
  • Annual Leave: 20 days/ year
