The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for all administrative tasks (Premises, maintenance, and specific finance and cash activities) assisting the local management to support the activities, under the guidance of administration department in Kassala.
Reports to (role)
- Finance & Administration Manager
Accountabilities & functional responsibilities
- Is responsible for the General Administration of the office in the sub delegation, under the guidance of the Kassala Administration Department in various matters, including planning, organization, control. information exchange, networking and negotiation for the administrative tasks.
- Runs the day-to-day tasks of specific cash and finance tasks, premises & maintenance as well as finance and cash.
- Analyses the situation in various fields and proposes necessary improvements.
- Explains and ensures administrative guidelines and procedures.
- Reports problems immediately to the superior (orally and/or in writing).
- Assists other departments in administrative procedures when needed.
- Is responsible for the admin stocks (furniture, cleaning products, some IT, etc.) as well as field trip items.
- Reports regularly to Finance and Administration Manager in Kassala
- Is the focal point for different admin unit in Kassala namely, premises and Finances for specific points.
- Interprets and translates in any situation with confidentiality in relation to administrative matters.
- Organizes informative meetings whenever necessary to pass new Admin requirements.
- Assist other department in their reservation for accommodation during the trips, provide support related to welcome file.
- Support other department in planning for their events, workshops and seminar.
Desired profile and skills
- Strongly motivated by humanitarian work
- Able to work under pressure in a potentially dangerous environment
Certifications / Education required
- University degree in administration, finance, accounting, data and information management or related field.
- Fluency in English, good communication and translation skills.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and IBM Lotus Notes.
Professional experience required
- 3-5 years’ work experience as Administrative Assistant, project finance clerk or management or similar tasks.
