Background
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral, and independent organization striving to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for a motivated person to fill the position of Cookin AL-Junaina.
PURPOSE :
The Cook provides quality and timely cooking services at ICRC premises.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Prepares meals (strictly respecting hygiene principles), with minimum food waste
- Orders/purchases and manages stocks of food and non-food (e.g. cooking gas, etc).
- Ensures cooking equipment is in good condition (safe for use) and that the kitchen and canteen/dining hall are cleaned after each use (respecting hygiene rules).
- Informs her hierarchical superior of any problems (broken/faulty material, etc.).
- Manages expenses related to food under the close supervision of her superior.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Sudanese nationality
- Primary school education.
- Basic knowledge of English
- Similar work experience is desirable.
