Premises Maintenance Officer (Aljunaina) – ICRC
WHO WE ARE
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with the National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational, and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.
THE PURPOSE
The Premises Maintenance Officer ensures proper maintenance of the ICRC premises and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that premises and equipment are properly maintained and that all utilities are working as they should.
- Order or purchase any necessary material in coordination with the logistics staff.
- Maintaining and repairing equipment and infrastructure; coordinates and/or supervises any work done by external providers.
- Coordinating the maintenance team and ensuring that premises and equipment are properly maintained and that all utilities are working as they should.
- Supervises and controls maintenance-related expenses for the assigned premises.
- Dealing with external service providers where relevant and coordinates/supervises their work.
- Ordering or purchasing any necessary material and supplies, in coordination with logistics staff, and maintaining stocks.
- Keeping proper related files and statistics.
Minimum Qualification, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Technical school or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic
- Sound knowledge of computers and the ability to run specific software.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Has the technical skills necessary to do the job.
- Skilled in the following competencies: Leadership, Accountability, People management, Teamwork & Collaboration, Representing the ICRC, Beneficiary & Client focused.
