Manage and coordinate work plans and budgets for the field-Office activities including for the work plan programme, and monitor the implementation of planned activities.

Support the development and monitoring of General Programme of Work and preparation of biennial programme budget and other related matters, including preparing relevant communication to WHE Team Lead, as well as reporting at various high-level meetings

Be responsible for the implementation of appropriate preparedness, emergency outbreak interventions and activities in Sudan.

Lead the development, consolidation and maintenance of a country-specific repository of information (at the highest geographic resolution possible) on core public health indicators (e.g. crude and under-five mortality rates, prevalence of malnutrition, vaccination coverage);

Provide a full range of secretarial services, ensuring that deadlines are met and correspondence and queries are responded to in a timely manner

Analyze and process requests for procurement of goods and services for different technical and emergency programmes

Drive office vehicles for transport of authorized personnel to different destinations, including field visits. Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport, assist with basic visa and customs formalities and other arrangements, as required; ensure compliance with WHO rules and regulations including security and safety requirements.

The main objective of this consultancy is supporting the implementation of Model of Care in selected states to advance progress towards attaining Universal Health Coverage and health security in Sudan.

The Emergency Officer works under the direct supervision of the WHE Coordinator and with technical guidance from the technical officers in WHE. The consultant will be deployed to a WHO sub-offices or presences in one of the 18 states of Sudan affected by emergencies.

The Environmental Health Officer is the liaison and focal point for a wide array of different partners both at local and international level.

To ensure that effective WHO country presence is established to implement WHO country cooperation strategies that are aligned with Member State’s health development agendas and emergency/resilience programmes, and harmonized with the United Nations country teams.

Support the collection, analyses, production and dissemination of data/information. This includes supporting the response specific information (what, where, who, how many, how quickly, current status), internal and external situation reports (SitReps), epidemic bulletins, rapid needs assessments, health risk assessments, and the Public Health Situation Analysis; and health inputs into humanitarian needs overviews (HNO), and strategic response plans (SRP).
