POSITION OVERVIEW
- We are looking for a Program Coordinator who is Lead the identification of project/funding opportunities and the development of new programs/projects in close coordination with the Country Representative, the relevant programs directors, the Regional Manager, and the international and regional institutions as well as partner organizations in the public/private sector.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide guidance, support, and oversight to the work Programs Support Unit team
- Coordinate with the Regional Manager of Programs to strengthen systems for collecting data/information needed for the drafting of regular progress reports being submitted to the donor and Headquarters to ensure the requisite deadlines are met.
- Identify potential and realistic funding opportunities by keeping abreast of donor priorities in the field by collecting donor information, appraising project proposals for specific donor funding, recommending the selection of project proposals for submission to identified donors, and following up on donor negotiations.
- Ensure the regular updating of MedGlobal Sudan’s project tracking and funding opportunity database.
- Streamline communication between the mission and international teams and offices by reviewing the content of documents and ensuring proper administrative processes for review and endorsement are respected, in line with the country and HQ Strategy.
- Revise and oversee the mission’s external communication strategy, including the utilization of social media communication tools (including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, MedGlobal website) to increase awareness of MedGlobal’s work in Sudan in coordination with communication officers and managers.
- Coordinate and oversee the development and dissemination of communications, reports, information products (infographics, info sheets etc) and various media resources based on key messages and concerns in the context of Sudan.
- Oversee the design and preparation of appropriate information campaigns for a variety of target groups, including within the Mission and to external sources, MedGlobal Missions,
Headquarters, donors, government counterparts and other interested
stakeholders. - Prepare detailed budget projections and timelines for executing each element of the MedGlobal Sudan Strategy.
- Identify and organize outreach activities and assist the Regional Program Manager in carrying out initiatives to promote MedGlobal’s image and to increase awareness of MedGlobal activities in the country.
- Participate in mission key events and workshops and undertake field monitoring visits to keep abreast of MedGlobal programmatically and to engage partners and stakeholders in a way that will advance MedGlobal agenda in Sudan.
- Participate in joint MedGlobal programmatic coordination meetings (the Common Country Assessment (CCA), Integrated strategy framework (ISF), and programs meetings in coordination with the Regional managers.
- Provide and coordinate inputs for information requests from Headquarters, the Regional Office, and other external partners, such as donors, partner agencies, implementing partners, etc.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the broad range of Medical-related projects monitoring and evaluation. And Knowledge of bilateral donor programming and Willingness to travel in field areas.
- Fluency in Arabic and English and effective communication skill
- Effective presentation of relevant information oral & written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and Google suit
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification
- University degree in Medicine, Public health, Nutrition, International Relations, or any related field from an accredited academic institution
- Certification or education & training will be of additional value.
- Must be Sudanese Nationality.
Experience
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience at INGOs/NGOs.
- Experience in Project design and government and donor liaison.
- Experience in coordinating, and managing various program units and ability to establish and maintain working relations with government counterparts, Donor agencies
- Experience in training facilitation and strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels.
- An individual with frequent traveling experience is necessary.
- Field experience in the Emergency or Development fields & in working in an NGO providing health care services will have additional value.
