POSITION OVERVIEW

The Water Trucking Monitoring Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the monitoring and evaluation of water trucking activities for MedGlobal, The assistant will be responsible for monitoring water trucking operations, conducting field visits, collecting data, and ensuring the efficient delivery of safe water to target communities. The Water Trucking Monitoring Assistant will contribute to the organization’s mission by ensuring the provision of clean water and promoting the health and well-being of vulnerable populations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Water Trucking Monitoring:
    • Monitor water trucking activities, including water sourcing, loading, transportation, and distribution to communities.
    • Conduct regular field visits to water collection points and distribution sites to assess the quality, quantity, and timeliness of water deliveries.
    • Collect data on water consumption, storage, and distribution, ensuring accurate and reliable information for reporting purposes.
    • Monitor and report any irregularities, discrepancies, or operational challenges related to water trucking activities.
    • Identify and address issues related to water quality, hygiene practices, and community feedback.
  • Data Collection and Reporting:
    • Develop and implement monitoring tools and data collection methods to track water trucking operations effectively.
    • Collect and record data on water quantity, delivery schedules, beneficiary numbers, and any other relevant indicators.
    • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of monitoring findings to the relevant stakeholders.
    • Assist in the preparation of monitoring reports, including data analysis, findings, and recommendations for improvement.
    • Collaborate with the M&E team to ensure that water trucking activities are aligned with overall program monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Coordination and Collaboration:
    • Liaise with water trucking contractors, drivers, and local authorities to ensure smooth coordination and implementation of activities.
    • Collaborate with community leaders, volunteers, and beneficiaries to gather feedback and address any concerns or complaints related to water trucking services.
    • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure the availability of fuel, maintenance, and repair services for water trucks.
    • Participate in coordination meetings and working groups related to water and sanitation, sharing information and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with MedGlobal’s standards and guidelines for water trucking operations.
    • Monitor the adherence to water quality standards, hygiene practices, and safety protocols during water trucking activities.
    • Raise awareness and promote good hygiene practices among water trucking staff, drivers, and beneficiaries.
    • Contribute to the identification and implementation of quality improvement measures for water trucking operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant certifications or training in water, sanitation, or related fields are desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in water trucking monitoring or related activities in the humanitarian sector.
  • Knowledge of water trucking operations, including water sourcing, transportation, and distribution.
  • Familiarity with water quality standards, hygiene practices, and community engagement in water programs.
  • Experience in data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer software and data collection tools.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote and challenging environments.
  • Fluency in Arabic. Knowledge of English is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and MedGlobal’s mission.
  • Must be Sudanese Nationality.
