We are seeking a motivated professional who will defining, coordinating and monitoring the medical activities under his/her responsibility according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their communities as well as to improve the health condition of the target population

  • Excellent capacity to negotiate: this position will play a key role in negotiations with MOH and other actors/partners.
  • Takes active role in surveillance of alerts in collaboration with PMR and EPI team: diseases with outbreak potential, displacement of population and mass casualty.
  • Management and supervision of the Rapid Response Team (RRT), in coordination with PMR, SMOH, other actors and other departments, contribute to improve the active emergency surveillance system, alert investigation, emergency preparedness and timely provision of response for priority diseases and events (cholera, measles, meningitis, diphtheria and malaria/dengue)
  • Ensure rapid and accurate triage, initial management, and stabilization of patients during RRT deployments, prioritizing emergency and severe cases in the community.
  • Essential good communication skills and Capacity building of MSF and MOH teams on diverse medical topics: clinical topics as relevant, outbreak management, mass casualty planning, and triage systems.
  • Jointly with the rest of medical team, ensure rational use of medications and appropriate use of biomed equipment by enforcing compliance with MSF protocols and conducting consumption vs morbidities analysis on monthly basis.
  • Lead or participate in rapid needs assessments and outbreak investigations
  • Ensure family-centered care approaches, support nutritional screening and support for admitted children, and manage the safe discharge process with clear follow-up plans.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive capacity-building plan for MSF and MOH staff on diverse topics: clinical protocols (e.g., pediatric emergencies, outbreak case management), and data management.
  • Take an active role in surveillance of alerts (epidemic-prone diseases, population displacement) in collaboration with the PMR and Epidemiologist/EPI team.
  • In collaboration with the epidemiologist/data team, monitor disease trends from RRT data to recommend adjustments in clinical practice, early warning triggers, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the timely, accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of medical data.
  • Implementation and monitoring of the MSF National Staff Health Policy within the project. Serve as the focal point for all staff health issues.
  • Assessment of Referral Hospitals: Proactively assess, validate, and regularly re-evaluate the capacity, quality, and safety of identified referral hospitals for the referral of national/international staff. This includes evaluating clinical services, diagnostic capacity, pharmacy stocks, infection control, and cost structure.
  • In collaboration with the PMR, ensure all staff are briefed on health risks, vaccination status is monitored, and appropriate post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and referral pathways for sick staff are clearly established and functional.
  • Medical doctor Diploma essential. Diploma in Tropical Medicine desirable.
  • Essential: Registration in the Sudanese Medical Council.
  • Essential 2 years minimum working experience with medical INGOs; Desirable experience in emergency interventions or within medical INGO’s emergency teams.
  • Essential 6 months minimum experience as a manager in medical activities. INGO is an asset.
  • Essential computer literacy (Microsoft 365 environment and tools)
  • Minimum B1 Proficiency level in English and native or near-native proficiency in Arabic.
