Summary:
To ensure that the implementation of inpatient treatment for SAM cases with medical complications to those admitted in SC is according to CMAM protocol and to ensure that the protocol is applied properly, providing care of quality to all the beneficiaries, respecting protocols and principles of good practice.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of nutrition activities In-patient Therapeutic Program and Management of Acute Malnutrition in Infant U6 (MAMI).
- In liaison with the Nutrition Officer, provide technical guidance to support Relief International nutrition staff and relevant partners.
- Supervise overall nutrition staff in SC nurse and nutrition Assistant to ensure that they provide essential and required care for sever malnourished children.
- Ensure all staff understands and implements program protocols used in the treatment of acutely malnourished children (SAM guidelines).
- Ensure appropriate and consistent health and nutrition education messaging to mothers and other carers at SC sites.
- Develop field monthly work plans in liaison with the Nutrition Officer.
- Compile health facilities’ weekly activity/performance reports and submit them to the Nutrition Officer
- In liaison with the Nutrition Officer/Senior Nutrition Officer and Nutrition Coordinator, conduct training to build the capacity of RI staff/volunteers, and MoH staff in identification and management of the Sever malnourished and in prevention of malnutrition.
- Facilitate field supplies requests and manage the supplies and consumption reports.
- Control nutrition food stocks and drugs at the field level ensuring all the stock and pin cards are updated and stores arranged properly
Others:
- Comply with all relevant RI policies and procedures with respect to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies.
- Carry out the performance appraisals to all the staff reporting to position on a timely basis
- Any other tasks as required by the nutrition Sector head.
Qualification and Experience:
- Degree in Public Health or Nutrition with three years of experience in nutrition programming in humanitarian settings.
- Experience working with community mobilization and integrated interventions
- Program Management experience
- Previous report writing experience
- Computer literate
- Leadership and supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
- Fluency in English required
