DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is in the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS). Supply Chain Management, Centralized Warehousing Unit. The Property Disposal Assistant will report to the Chief Centralized Warehousing Unit. The R & I Assistant will report to the Chief Centralized Warehousing Unit. The R & I function is responsible for conducting virtual and/or physical take-over of goods, checks and verifies quantity received and other non-technical details of the delivery. It also includes contacting Technical units to confirm the specifications of the order, through technical inspections, if applicable. Inbound processes include Receiving and Inspection (R&I), Serialization, Marking and preparation for Put-away of items.
Responsibilities:
Within delegated authority, the R & I Assistant at this level will be responsible for the following duties:
• Conducts virtual goods receipt and physical goods receipt, including visual inspection of received goods upon arrival.
• Determines if goods should be received into Block Stock; Verify inbound product quantity, conduct an initial visual inspection of the product, perform Confirm the virtual receipt of goods.
• Coordinates incoming deliveries with Inbound Coordinator, who is a member of the MOVCON staff.
• Serializes and updates received batches, as applicable
• Prints labels, as needed.
• Reports any discrepancies in quantities or quality to Procurement Office, Requisitioning Unit and/or Acquisition Planning Unit.
• Segregates items with discrepancies.
• Separates items for stock replenishment from those for immediate issue.
• Forwards all received items to warehouse in-processing and storage.
• Creates goods receipt report in Umoja.
Other responsibilities
• After the R & I, collects goods from the receiving area and put-away in the designated warehouse locations (storage bins).
• Assists to isolate Dangerous Goods storage from main warehouse, clearly marked with the appropriate signs to assist emergency responders and store away from main warehouse area.
• Performs physical functions related to outbound delivery for storage of put away, picking, packing, order fulfillment to the final delivery of commodities to the customer.
• Accepts irreparable items from technical units once written off to the CWH disposal area.
• Reviews open Transfer orders and initiate the picking and consolidation of items process: pulling the materials from containers, shelves/bins and pack them in suitable boxes, pallets, containers, etc. (packing should be in accordance with guidelines provided by MOVCON, Operations Manual, November 2014); and labelling each batch of materials with information such as description, Product ID, final
• Performs checks and stock takings to verify the correctness of inventory levels, locations and/or conditions of the stored items with frequency based on an ABC classification of stock.
• Performs any other task as assigned by Warehouse Manager/Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High school diploma is required. Qualifications in Stores Management and/or stock Inventory Control would be an asset.
Work Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of property management, inventory control, logistics, procurement, warehouse operations or related field. Experience providing services to or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable. Experience in managing warehouse materials. Demonstrated proficiency in UMOJ/SAP
ERP system is desirable.
Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations
Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Fluency in Arabic is required.

Assessment:
