Task description

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Human Resources Manager or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the Human Resources Expert will:

Business Partnering

Serve as the single point of contact for his/her client portfolio on advice pertaining to all aspects assigned to him/her e.g. Talent Acquisition, HR Administration, Performance Management, etc.

Provide accurate and timely advice to his/her clients, in consultation with the HR Specialist and Manager, on HR processes and policies, ensuring the highest level of client-orientation.

Act as the key focal point fir reviewing all consultancy and low service contract’s requests, in collaboration with the HR Assistant, ensuring all quality control checks are adhered to as per UNICEF Consultant rules and regulations.

Proactively advise his/her clients on the resolution of human resources issues, in consultation with HR Specialist and Manager. ensuring equitable and transparent solutions that protects both the staff and organizations interests in accordance with policies, regulations and procedures.

Promote the organizational goals and targets for gender equity and cultural diversity.

Strategic Human Resources

Make recommendations on establishment and improvement of HR system and work process for Khartoum and all field offices.

Keep abreast, research, benchmark, and implement best and cutting-edge practices in HR management and contribute to the development of UNICEF Sudan `s HR efforts to become strategic partner through sharing of best practices and knowledge learned.

Provide support to specific HR hiring process specifically for the individual consultants and data analytics of all HR records,

Requirements

Required experience

15 years of experience in 15 years of increasingly international or national professional experience in human resource management in an international organization and/or large corporation is required.

Required education level

Master degree or equivalent in Advanced University Degree in Human Resource Management, Labor Law, Business Management, International Relations, psychology or another related field is required.

Living conditions and remarks

The climate is mainly tropical. During the summer (March – June) the temperature is quite high with an average of 38C, with May being the hottest month of the year. Autumn starts from mid-July and ends on September, it is characterized by an abundance of sandstorms. Winter starts from October and up to February, it is endowed with a beautiful to moderate, dry and healthy. Finding a place to stay is probably the number one priority for settling into your short assignment in Sudan. You have the option of staying in one of the hotels below which are cleared by UNDSS. Furnished or semi Furnished housing/apartments are also available, but most landlords may not be keen to rent apartments for period of less than six months. Most types of meals and internationally knows dishes are available in Khartoum. All sorts of fresh meats (chicken, beef, lamb and fish) are available in supermarkets. Fresh vegetables and fruits are also available from local sources. There are a variety of canned and packaged goods. Sudan is a unique country and unique (humanitarian) operation. It provides for an interesting and enriching environment, but also requires a mature level of cultural awareness, as well as more stamina and commitment than elsewhere to make life comfortable and affordable. Therefore, flexibility and the ability and willingness to live and work in harsh and potentially hazardous conditions, involving physical hardship and little comfort, are essential
