The Project Officer is responsible for the implementation of the FSL Assistance for people returning to Khartoum after years of displacement in and outside Sudan.
The primary purpose of the position is oversee implementation of the day to day project activities, which include onetime multipurpose cash support to meet urgent needs upon return, and conducting market assessment, selection, training and supporting through startup grants livelihood options of returning HHs. The job holder ensures that project activities are well planned, timely implemented, and fulfil the technical, social, economic and environmental requirements / standards.
The position requires extensive and continues communication and feedback with beneficiaries, partners, concerned ministries and authorities and program staff at all levels.
The position will be for around 9 months, including 3 months’ probation period, subject for renewal, depending on performance and continuity of funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
•
Support the development of the project implementation plan (PIP) and the monitoring of implementation of the plan.
•
Ensure correct beneficiary selection procedure and criteria are followed by the partner, community committees and other stakeholders.
•
Coordinate with the project coordinator, senior emergency response specialist, finance and logistics team in the planning to deliver the activities.

Organize meetings to familiarise communities about the purpose and activities of the project, their roles and responsibilities, as well as the accountability commitments. 5thJuly 2026

•
Ensure that communities are sensitised and engaged in planning, selection and verification of beneficiaries, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
•
Participate and lead selection of beneficiaries for the program activities in liaison with communities, and local authorities.
•
Ensure beneficiaries complaints and feedback mechanisms are set up and functional at all project sites .
•
Facilitate training of beneficiaries and procurement of project supplies and inputs.
•
Monitoring and responsible for the project day to day activity implementation.
•
Provide regular reports and updates to the Project Coordinator about the project activities through field visit, meetings and partner’s feedback.
•
Participate in FSL cluster meetings, working groups and missions as advised by the direct supervisor.
•
Ensure confidentiality of information and strictly follow authorization and communication guidelines in this regard.
•
Any other duties reasonably consistent with the key tasks of the function.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:
COMPETENCIES:
•
Proven working experience of 3 -5 years in FSL;
•
Minimum education: BSC degree in economics, social studies, agriculture or other relevant disciplines.
•
Affinity with development work and International NGO’s;
•
Fluent in Arabic and English in reading, writing and speaking;
•
Excellent knowledge of computers (Excel, Word, Power point, etc.).
•
Service oriented attitude but a hardliner when it comes to keeping up to our administrative procedures.
