DRC has been present in Sudan since 2004, delivering life-saving programming in protection, emergency response, shelter, food security and livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, camp management, and humanitarian mine action. DRC has implemented projects in Central Darfur, South Darfur, South Kordofan, Gedaref, Kassala, and Khartoum states. Sudan hosts one of the largest displaced populations in Africa, with over 3.7 million internally displaced people and over 1.1 million refugees from South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Central African Republic, Chad, Yemen, and Syria. Against a background of political crisis, Sudan faces economic and social turmoil, with sharp increases in food and energy costs, further exacerbated by disease outbreaks and ongoing conflict.
About the job
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operational in Sudan since 2004. The programme focuses predominantly on the conflict-affected population living outside of camps in rural areas. This role will suit a candidate with strong field experience in Finance looking for challenging skills and opportunities to influence, and introduce tools to better manage Budgets, quality cashbooks, and timely reporting. You will be resilient, a self-starter, and confident in providing strong financial procedures including reviewing key documents and ensuring correct Budget lines.
Responsibilities and Tasks:

Cash Management
- In cooperation with the Area Manager and program managers ensure that fund requests are made on time and enough cash is available at all times for the field payments
- Ensure adherence to cash management policy
- Issuing and managing staff cash advances by ensuring that cash advances are settled on time
- Ensure cash counts and bank reconciliation are done on time and shared with the Country office by the 2nd of every month
- Keep the bank and cash reconciliation of every field office
Accounting Management:
- Prepare cashbooks and upload cash books to Dynamics by the 3rd of every month
- Ensure the quality of the cashbook in terms of accounting code, project code & office code
- Ensure quality and train the program staff in BFUs, Cash policy, and documentation process
- Reconcile field cash advances and uncleared cheques account 739000 & 942000 in Dynamics
- Review documents to ensure all invoices are fully supported before payments
- Ensure that all vouchers are scanned and uploaded online on a monthly basis
- In charge of field office taxation and social insurance files
- Provide all required documents for audits
- Ensure all documents are scanned monthly and uploaded on SharePoint
- Organize field beneficiary cash payments
- Any other tasks as may be assigned by Area Manager/Line manager
Minimum Qualification, Skills, and Experience Required:
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
- At least 4 years’ work experience in the field of finance/accounting/bookkeeping in an NGO or the commercial sector.
- Hands-on experience/skills in MS Excel (experience in working with formulas)
DRC experience in the finance system is preferred
Desirable:
- Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, proactive, and able to accomplish set deadlines.
- Willing to meet deadlines with minimum supervision
Education background: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin, or a related field
languages: (indicate fluency level)
- Fluent in both written and spoken English – highly preferable
- Fluent in Arabic – obligatory

Salary range: 1,026-1,528 USD
