Summary
The IWRM/WASH Officer will be responsible for the implementation of IWRM/WASH activities and may deputize the Programme Coordinator as and when the need arises.
Duties:
Program
- Coordinate and participate in project start-up/ project closure workshops, baseline survey, and end of end-of-project evaluation for the project as per project design and within the project implementation deadlines.
- Close Coordination with the CDO for community mobilization and sensitization of the community on WASH activities under the project
- Management and monitoring of the WASH activities in the designated area to ensure that all requirements of the activities are met perfectly
- Participate in conducting joint assessments and planning responses together with other teams and follow up on the recommendations.
- Collection and update the beneficiaries’ numbers with segregation monthly per activities
- Arrangement and facilitation of soft component activities
- Mobilizes and coordinates local communities and relevant government bodies to participate effectively in WASH programme activities
- Prepare tender documents for purposes of soliciting bids/tenders from contractors for the said project.
- Together with the program team, implement WASH activities in line with the program proposals and donor requirements and ensure timely production of and submission of program reports and budget revisions.
- Follow up the running activities
- Supervision of all construction activities
- Representing IAS in sub-sector coordination meetings.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the direct supervisor
- Follow up, inspect, and ensure project materials are delivered as per specified measurements at field level in a timely way, and follow up with your supervisor those not delivered as per requisition.
- Prepare project documentation including monthly project reports on implementation/ construction status, intermediate and final narrative reports as per donor requirements and send them to the IWRM Officer and other relevant team members for review/further action within set deadlines
- Representing IAS in coordination, communication, and meetings with local Authorities and local community in designated areas.
Capacity building
- Plan and conduct training workshops for technical teams and the selected local partners on core topics such as information management, project management, integrated water resources management concept, report writing
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualification, Skills, and Experience Required
Essential
- BSc in water engineering, Hydrology, Geology, Civil engineering, or Public Health.
- Minimum 2- 3 years of experience preferred with INGOs in the same position.
Desirable
- Report writing skills are highly desirable
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to effectively make presentations.
Competencies:

- Fluency in “English and Arabic”
- Proficient in computer programs such as Word and Excel, PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player with the ability to build relationships with communities, staff, and partners at all levels.
