Assists in management and provision of petroleum, oils and lubricants (POL) as well as provision of other related services to the Mission.

The position is located in the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission  in Sudan (UNITAMS). The position is based in Khartoum. 

Coordinates with engineers and other civilian or military specialists in the mission to agree on work requirements and priorities.

Performs various actions related to the administration of the work unit’s human resource activities consistently applying UN rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Participates in the development of the Aviation Emergency Response Plan and ensures that it is communicated to all officials concerned.

Participates fully in assigned operational activities related to implementation of  UNITAMS mandate in support of the political transition, peace-making,  peacebuilding; supports an integrated approach that includes a rights-based  dimension, conflict prevention sensitivity, and gender perspective into the policy,  planning and operational activities of the unit. 

The position is based in Khartoum, Sudan and is located in the Office of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator. The incumbent will report to the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator.

Ensures that the mission leadership is apprised of the full array of child rights and protection issues and advises on ways and strategies for the mission and its leadership to address them

Keeps abreast of the latest trends and developments in the constitution-making process and wider political affairs and provides inputs and analysis on issues to senior officials and colleagues in the field mission. 

Prepares draft of security plan for the Mission, designated county or geographic area, including all aspects related to elaboration, development, implementation and updating of the plan.

Participates fully in assigned operational activities related to the work of the office or missions i.e., Represent UNITAMS and engage with host country local authorities, stakeholders, civil society organisations, community groups, non-governmental and multilateral organizations on political transition, crisis management, conflict prevention and mediation, in the context of the Mission’s mandate.

Plans the property management support operations, monitors progress through statistical analysis of database records and monthly progress reports for the Unit

Prepares and reviews security planning and security management documents for the Security Area or geographic area, including all aspects related to elaboration, development, implementation and updating of the documents.
