What will you do in this position?

You will deliver a full range of HR support Sudan country Office in applying Learning and Development initiatives.

Accountabilities?

  • Ensure that the Learning & Development System is utilized in an effective manner and that all trainings are completed within the system.
  • Coordinate with RBN and HQ to ensure that Sudan training needs are available in the format of e- learning and classroom.
  • Contribute in the organization and administration of local training courses.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by implementing new/updated HR policies, procedures and systems and recommending improvements.
  • Ensure Mandatory training to all national staff including new, expired etc. provide statistics upon request.
  • Deliver onboarding activities which ensure new employees have a positive experience of WFP, and are successfully integrated into their new role and the organization. 
  • Working with managers to understand individual skills and business requirements, and organizing/delivering development solutions which equip people with the skills and knowledge required to meet current and future challenges.
  • Collate and analyse data for the preparation of accurate and timely reporting, supporting a WFP wide view of HR activities that enables informed decision-making and consistent information for stakeholders.
  • Act as a focal point for all issues related to Learning & Development.
  • Extra initiatives  could include contribution to the Internship and volunteer programme.
  • Other as required.

Contribute towards reinforcing a performance mind-set through: 

  • Monitoring and highlight challenges in the completion of SC, SSA, and FT evaluations.
  • Review the evaluations that been escalated and require attention.
  • Provide effective management of probation evaluations and ensure that they are submitted in a timely manner and within the required quality.
  • Escalating and highlighting delay in follow up of the previous points to  management .
  • Conduct awareness sessions to staff regarding performance appraisal.
  • Monitor and Guide the finalization of the MRC review of the appraisals on PACE.
  • Act as a focal point for all issues related to performance evaluation.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: Advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/courses.

Experience: Typically, three or more years of postgraduate professional experience in Human Resources with in-depth expertise in performance management and learning & development.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Broad or specialized knowledge of HR best practices, techniques, and processes with some understanding of the basic theoretical background.

 • Ability to supervise and support more junior and/or less experienced members of the team.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and recommend a course of action.

 • Good communication skills required to give and receive information and work with a variety of individuals.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and provide client-oriented service. Ability to identify client’s needs and match them to appropriate solutions.

• Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly assimilate, UN/WFP specific processes and systems.

Language: Proficiency in oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
